چکیده
2D photoactive materials may offer interesting opportunities in photocatalytic devices since they combine strong light absorption and shortening of charge carriers’ diffusion path. Because their high surface defect concentration the formation a majority edge/plane vs plane/plane contacts between anisotropic building blocks, passivation improvement carrier transport are critical for large development area, photo-catalysts. Here, we propose hetero-structure nanoporous network with patch-like coating as performance The hetero-structured blocks composed photo-active WSe2 nanoflake direct contact both conducting rGO nanosheet an ultrathin layer healing catalyst. resulting film achieves H2 evolution photocurrent density up to 5 mA cm−2 demonstrating that hetero-structures represent effective strategy simultaneously improve hole collection, transfer. These made catalyst promising bottom-up fabrication area photocathodes particularly photo-catalysts displaying concentration.

In artificial photocatalysis, sluggish kinetics of hole transfer and the resulting high-charge recombination rate have been the Achilles' heel of photocatalytic conversion efficiency. Here we demonstrate water-soluble molecules as co-catalysts to accelerate hole transfer for improved photocatalytic H2 evolution activity. Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), by virtue of its reversible redox couple TFA·/...
متن کاملShort-Range Catalyst-Surface Interactions Revealed by Heterodyne Two-Dimensional Sum Frequency Generation Spectroscopy.
Heterodyne 2D sum frequency generation spectroscopy is used to study a model CO2 reduction catalyst, Re(diCN-bpy) (CO)3Cl, as a monolayer on a gold surface. We show that short-range interactions with the surface can cause substantial line-shape differences between vibrational bands from the same molecules. We explain this interaction as the result of couplings between CO vibrational modes of th...
متن کاملAtomic-like high-harmonic generation from two-dimensional materials
The generation of high-order harmonics from atomic and molecular gases enables the production of high-energy photons and ultrashort isolated pulses. Obtaining efficiently similar photon energy from solid-state systems could lead, for instance, to more compact extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray sources. We demonstrate from ab initio simulations that it is possible to generate high-order harmonic...
